Live to Give & Give to Live
How can you help save lives? By giving plasma.
Every day, thousands of people across the country need medication and therapies made from plasma to survive. When you give source plasma, you help people with serious and rare diseases, along with burn victims and trauma and cancer patients.

For many people with rare diseases and chronic conditions, plasma-based therapies are the only way to treat their condition or disease. You can save lives. By giving plasma, you can ensure that these people receive the life-saving plasma-derived medications and therapies they need, when they need them.
Your giving is their living.

Our donor-focused plasma collection process makes your donation easy and comfortable. We perform a process called plasmapheresis using a sophisticated machine. This machine safely separates plasma from blood and collects it in a bottle. The other parts of your blood are returned to you. This process is painless. Rest assured, our staff is there for you if these issues arise.

You ask. We answer.
It is normal to feel nervous before giving plasma, especially if it is your first time.
-
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO DONATE?Individuals aged 18 years and older who weigh a minimum of 110 pounds are legally eligible to donate. Plasma donated is processed in a method called plasma fractionation, where specific proteins are separated. As a result, plasma can be donated by people of all blood types. Additional examinations will take place on your first visit to ensure that you can donate.
-
IS DONATING PAINFUL?You can expect to feel a small pain from the initial needle stick, but other than that, donating is a painless process.
-
HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT MY VISIT TO TAKE?Since your first visit requires examination and documentation, you can expect it to take 2-3 hours. Recurrent visits after that should take approximately 60 minutes or less.
-
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING ALONG TO MY FIRST VISIT?For your first visit, please make sure to bring along your social security card or W2 with social security number displayed, and an unexpired government ID.
-
HOW OFTEN CAN I DONATE?In the United States, the FDA allows for healthy individuals to donate plasma twice in a seven-day period, with at least 48 hours between donations. However, every organization has different guidelines. Please inquire within.
-
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY DONATION?Make sure you are well rested, and hydrated, and eat a healthy meal before donating. Doing so helps ensure that your blood sugar levels are stable and that you feel well during and after the process.
-
HOW AND WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO RECEIVE MY PAYMENT?We at CRT pay you in cash! (Unlike most organizations that compensate you with a debit card.) You can expect to receive your compensation upon completing your visit.
-
HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER GIVING PLASMA?People who give plasma sometimes experience initial lightheadedness after donating. This can usually be overcome by staying hydrated and eating a healthy meal. The day after you give plasma, you may also feel more fatigued than usual. It’s important to rest and rehydrate after giving plasma to give your body a chance to replenish your own plasma.
